The JAS (Japan Agricultural Standards) for Jidori chicken meat.

Defining the JAS
(Japan Agricultural Standards)
for Jidori chicken meat.

In the past, Jidori meat’s food label was applied under ambiguous standards. In order for the consumers to see the true value of the product, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of Japan established Jidori meat JAS (Japan Agriculture Standards) in defining Jidori meat on June 21, 1999.

The standard was enforced as the JAS (Japan Agriculture Standard) on June 10, 2000 and it defines Jidori-meat as a domestically raised chicken meat fulfilling the specified standards.
